Tampa Tournament (MLK Weekend)

OVERVIEW

The USA FLAG Youth World Championships, one of the largest flag football events in the world, will take place over MLK Weekend this January in Tampa, Florida.

Our 12u and 14u teams will be competing in this tournament against teams from across the nation and around the globe.

Our 12u team is scheduled to compete in pool games on Saturday, January 18, 2025, followed by playoff games on Sunday, January 19, 2025..

The finalized game schedule is expected to be released around January 7, 2025.

Players are required to arrive at least 1 hour before the first scheduled pool game to allow the event to complete the team check-in process and ensure participation in the tournament.

Hotel Arrangements

This is not a stay-to-play tournament, so parents are required to travel with their children and book accommodations independently.

While specific game times for Saturday will not be confirmed until the tournament schedule is finalized, our team is estimated to play starting after 1 PM or possibly in the late afternoon/evening (after 4 PM).

One hotel night (Saturday night) is likely sufficient; however, schedules are tentative and subject to change by the event organizers. Please plan accordingly to accommodate any adjustments.

Player Verification

To participate in the event, parents must create an account and purchase a player card for their child.

The card must be verified by submitting a clear, recent headshot photo of the player, along with documents such as a birth certificate or passport to confirm the player's age.

The verification process typically takes 24-72 hours. To avoid last-minute issues or the risk of missing the event, please ensure the verification process is completed by January 10, 2025.

Additionally, you will be required to sign the USA FLAG event waiver within your child's player account.

Registration

To participate in the event, players must register with a $250 payment to secure their spot. This payment is refundable until January 7, 2025, but please note that a 3% card processing fee is non-refundable.

Due to the limited timeframe, we encourage you to register as soon as possible to secure your spot. Players who are unable to commit will forfeit their place, which may be offered to others in our player pool.
