Gauntlet - Tournament Team Program
OVERVIEW
Showtime Flag Tournament Teams are part of the Gauntlet and an integral part of our Travel Flag Football Program, designed to provide players with advanced opportunities to compete and grow.
These teams operate in structured two-month periods that include regular team practices, exhibition games, and participation in 1-2 tournaments and/or leagues.
Who's Invited?
Players who have demonstrated the skills to compete at the highest level and exhibit a strong commitment to the program.
Please note that joining does not guarantee a specific position or role on a team. We will not accommodate such requests, and we recommend not joining if this is a requirement.
Players who are not ready for competitive tournaments may have the option to participate exclusively in practices.
SCHEDULE
Each team has its own schedule and practices at a designated location. At the start of the session, we will coordinate with your group's team manager to establish the team's overall schedule.
Your child's team schedule will be available in the MOJO Sports App, and parents/guardians are expected to check the app regularly for the most up-to-date information.
Please note that event schedules are subject to change due to factors such as insufficient teams in a division or other unforeseen circumstances. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated as soon as possible.
REGISTRATION (DEADLINE: DECEMBER 30, 2024)
When players join the tournament team for the first time in a program year, a one-time $125 payment is required to secure their spot and cover the cost of their uniform. This initial fee is separate from the session fees, which vary for each session.
Refunds: For players fully registered by the deadline, the initial $125 payment and session costs, minus credit card processing fees, can be refunded if a cancellation request is received by Friday, January 10, 2025.
Payments after the December 30 registration deadline will not be eligible for a refund.
If we can accomodate players after the registration deadline, a $70 late fee will apply.
Make $125 PaymentSession 1 (Coaching Fees)
The January/February 2025 session costs $350 if paid in full by Monday, December 30, 2024, or $400 if split into two payments. This fee includes practices but does not cover exhibition games, scrimmages or tournament fees.
For those paying in full, the total session fee will be charged within 24 hours of receiving the initial $125 payment.
For those opting for the two-payment option, payments will be automatically charged as follows:
- Payment 1 (Session 1): $200 by Monday, December 30, 2024
- Payment 2 (Session 1): $200 on Friday, January 17, 2025
Event Fees & Travel Costs
Separate fees apply to participate in exhibition games, leagues and tournaments. You will be asked to confirm your child's participation before any charges are made.
For events requiring overnight stays, additional costs will cover travel arrangements for coaches and players, including hotel accommodations, transportation, and flights for out-of-state events.
Away “Stay-to-Play” tournaments require us to meet a minimum number of room nights to participate in their event. Consequently, parents must book their hotel accommodations through our designated booking process.
Other Costs
Lastly, player verification services, such as ZORTS and National Sports ID, are required for participation in events and have annual fees ranging from $10 to $20 per player.
AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR LEAGUES & TOURNAMENTS
Each event will have varying age requirements, leading to potential roster adjustments within our player pool. Some events use an August 1 cutoff date, while others follow a January 1 cutoff based on birth year.
August 1 Cutoff
Each division (8u, 10u, 12u, etc) is based on the player's age on August 1, 2024.
In an 8u division, players must be 8 years of age or younger on that date.
For example, if a player turns 9 on August 5, they are still eligible for the 8u division because they were 8 on August 1.
January 1 (Birth Year) Cutoff
Each division (11u, 12u, 13u, etc.) is based on the player's age on January 1, 2025.
In an 11u division, players must be 11 years of age or younger before that date.
For example, if a player turns 12 on January 22, 2025, they remain eligible for the 11u division because they were 11 years old on or before January 1, 2025.
COMMITMENT TO THE TEAM
Participation in a Showtime Flag Tournament Team requires a strong commitment to the team's activities. By joining, players and their families agree to the following:
Attendance and Participation. Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices, exhibition games, and tournaments.
Effort and Sportsmanship. Players are required to give their best effort during practices and games while demonstrating respect and sportsmanship toward teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents.
Communication. Parents are expected to communicate in a timely manner with coaches and team managers. This includes promptly informing them of any conflicts or absences and maintaining regular communication to ensure proper planning and team coordination.
Flexibility with Scheduling. Families acknowledge that schedules may change due to unforeseen circumstances, and they agree to remain flexible and accommodating when adjustments are necessary.
